A Note about Sustainable Design

Sustainable and green architecture is an extension of building well. This approach is not new to Albert, Righter & Tittmann Architects. We have a long history of building durable, efficient, and well-loved buildings. We believe that building green is not a check list, but a result of a complete and comprehensive attitude.

We address clients' sustainable design goals, from pursuing a LEED rating to just applying intelligent environmental principles throughout the process. Much of today's sustainable architecture is just good practice: sensitivity to site and sun, choosing efficient mechanical systems, and using materials that are kind to the planet. We consider such principles during any design process and apply them according to our clients' scope of work, priorities, and budget.

The following principles guide our thinking:

CONSERVATION

reduce demand for energy, water, and materials through conservation and use of low-energy systems

ENERGY

maximize renewable energy

CONSTRUCTION

build for the long-term

HEALTH

build for the health of the building's users, as well as for the planet
